MARK GHOSN (MG) is a multi-medium storyteller. He is a Filipino-Lebanese spoken word poet, theatre artist, author, and host.


THEATRE ARTIST

Mark Ghosn is best known for creating the hit show Ampalaya Monologues (2015) – a play that features a collection of bitter love stories as told through monologues and spoken word poetry.

Prior to Ampalaya Monologues, Ghosn is mainly regarded as a theatre actor, having been part of several theatrical productions in the Philippines including the hit plays Battalia Royale (2013), Walang Katapusang Sequel (2016), and the annual Virgin LabFest WFP Readings (2015-2018). He has also written and directed plays as part of the Karnabal Festival (2014-2016).

In 2016, Ghosn was awarded the Gawad Rizal for his contribution to the Philippine theatre scene.

SPOKEN WORD POET

In 2016, Mark Ghosn became the first spoken word artist to enter the Philippine Top 50 on Spotify with a collection of spoken word and music collaborations.

In 2018 and 2020, he was invited by the Cultural Center of the Philippines to be one of the main judges of their spoken word poetry competition.

In 2022, he was chosen by GMA Network to record and perform the theme of their election advocacy.

Some of his other memorable moments include his performances on Eat Bulaga (2021), TV5 New Year Countdown (2017), and the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (2019). He was also featured on iWitness, ABS-CBN, Rated K, News5, CNN Philippines, Jessica Soho’s Brigada, Cheche Lazaro, Inquirer, and Rappler.

Ghosn also did spoken word performances for brands such as Orocan, Tanduay, and Ginebra, among others.

AUTHOR

In 2017, a compilation of his ampalaya monologues was published nationwide by Summit Books. Part of his book tour included appearances in major publishing events such as the Manila International Book Fair, The Philippines Readers and Writers Festival, NBS Words and Letters, and the Cebu Literary Festival.

In 2019, the book was adapted into a tv series by iWant TFC entitled Ampalaya Chronicles.

HOST AND PUBLIC SPEAKER

Mark Ghosn is also a public speaker, he has been invited to speak at different universities including Bicol University, University of the Philippines Visayas, De La Salle University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, and Southville International School, as well as the CCP’s Performatura Festivals.

Other speaking-related engagements include his stint as a regular panelist on GMA’s Ang Pinaka, hosting a valentine segment on Amazing Earth, hosting a vlog produced by GMA Digital Media, guesting and co-hosting on different radio stations such as Barangay LS, Jam, Monster RX, and Mellow; and hosting the Social Media Day PH event.

In 2022, Ghosn became the main host of a podcast entitled Ampalaya Stories, produced by Oomph, the digital arm of Viva Entertainment.
